Wingspan Bird Tours operates its day tours in Southern Andalucia from its base in the beautiful 'Pueblo Blanco' of Gaucin (depicted above), in the province of Malaga. Our day tours cover a radius of 100km around Gaucin which includes a great variey of habitats and many species of birds. Gaucin is situated near the famous town of Ronda and is ideally positioned for day tours of many scenic mountainous areas as well as coastal regions.
The Serrania de Ronda is an area of oustanding natural beauty and encompasses the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Reserve and lies adjacent to the Grazalema Natural Park, both are within easy reach of Gaucin. We are also able to visit Gibraltar, Tarifa, La Janda and many more sites along the coast. A bird list of 50 - 70 species is easily obtainable during our day tours, many are seasonal but you may see some that are rare and some exotic species such as: European Bee-eater, Eurasin Hoopoe, Rufous Bush Robin, Black-winged Kite, Golden Oriole, Hawfinch, Blue Rock Thrush, Rock Thrush, Black Wheatear, Spectacled Warbler, Eagle Owl, Bonelli's Eagle and many more.
