Our bird-watching philosophy and company policy is to seek out and observe the delightful and fascinating local avifauna whilst taking into account its sensitive and delicate nature. We lead friendly, relaxed and well-organised tours and our aim is to provide an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Wingspan's bird-watching holidays are committed to the value for money - small group ethos, which has formed the basis of our business from the outset and because of that we remain considerably cheaper than our competitors. To keep our costs down we do not produce glossy brochures,we are soley internet-based.

Individuals, family parties or small, informal groups are expertly guided around the best bird-watching sites, routes are specifically chosen for their particular scenic aspects, passing through many areas of outstanding natural beauty. The itinerary are carefully planned so that most of the time is spent in the field not in the bus.

We try our utmost to make sure that all participants manage to see the birds, we do not race round from site to site in order to gain a longer tick-list, we spend quality time for as long as the group wants at quality sites.

In order to maintain effective and manageable groups our tours are limited to a maximum of 8 participants this enables everyone a good opportunity to see the birds. We rotate seating arrangements in the bus so that everyone has a front seat at some stage. We never forget that it is your holiday and we try our best to give you a wonderful experience and some long lasting memories.

Tour Guide Bob Buckler BSc (Hons)

Wingspan is hosted by Bob Buckler an experienced birder with over 30 years of field study under his belt and over 20 years tour guide experience. He has travelled extensively in Spain, France and Greece and made birding trips to parts of the USA, Canada, Israel, Egypt, Morocco, The Gambia and the Balearic Islands.

Bob offers a casual approach to bird-watching and guides with an easy going, friendly nature. You are not lectured to or confused with too much “expert” knowledge, the trips are good humoured and beginners are most welcomed.
