Whilst sitting at my wooden table in my courtyard I noticed this rather impressive but tiny spider...........

It is a Jumping Spider species, you can tell that from the arrangement of its six eyes, two large ones at the front and four smaller ones along the side of its head (cephalothorax). It is less than 10mm across!

 

 

It uses those fan-type appendages on its fore-legs to attrack a mate and/or prey, I did film him doing this and have created a link to a youtube video shown below.
