TRANSFER FROM MALAGA AIRPORT TO GAUCIN WITH STOPS AT ESTEPONA, CASARES AND SIERRA CRESTELLINA. The predictable French Air Traffic Controllers went on shrike during this bank holiday week, what a surprise! So my guests were delay by 3hrs but this didn't stop us having some good birding on the way from the airport.......

I collected Val & Tony and Judith at 2pm instead of 11am thanks to the French, it was a lovely sunny day with a strong breeze. We drove to Estepona and stopped near the large refuse site near Sierra Bermuja where we saw dozens of Griffon Vultures, lots of Black Kites, a single Booted Eagle and a few Yellow-legged Gulls.

At Casares we got much closer views of Griffon Vultures and round at Sierra Crestellina we had distance and brief views of Bonelli's Eagle. As we watched the eagles and vultures we added Stonechat, Corn Bunting and Cirl Bunting to the list.

We arrived at Gaucin at 5pm where we relaxed before having a delicious home cooked dinner at 7pm.
