SRI LANKA TRIP REPORT JAN 2016 Our latest Trip Report has been posted today and can be found on the Sri Lanka 2017 Tour description page

The WINGSPAN inaugural tour of Sri Lanka was a complete success in terms of finding excellent local guides, good accommodation, the best routes and of course the best places to see the huge variety of wildlife. It was a fantastic recce trip in search of the endemic species of this beautiful, isolated island country, we saw all 33 endemics as well as 215 other species of birds, 27 mammals, lots of butterflies and some really interesting reptiles.

The scenery is breath-taking in places, the local people are genuinely lovely and are the friendliest I've ever met, anywhere! We visited several national parks including the famous Yala National Park and covered many different habitats in beautiful landscapes over several different elevations.

It was a wonderful trip and Sri Lanka easily slotted into my top 3 best countries for birding! I can't wait to return next year.......you may be convinced to join me after you read this report.
