A WALK ALONG THE RIVER MEADOWS AT STOFORD

WEATHER: dry and bright, then dull and wet, then dry and bright

Isn't that just typical British Weather?

For the last three days it has been very wet and very windy then at 2pm today the sun came out. So I went for a walk only for it cloud over and start raining again! But, I waited it out and before long the sun came out again.

A clear sky to start with

then it turned nasty

but the sun came out aagain after 30  minutes of light rain

A few birds braved the cold and the rain, I saw Common Buzzard, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Raven, a flock of over 50 Goldfinches and a lot of common birds such as Blue Tit, Grat Tit, Robin and Chaffinch.

Common Buzzard

In the distance I saw a large mixed flock of Redwings and Fieldfares, also Jackdaws and a few Black-headed Gulls.

one of the three Great Spotted Woodpeckers seen this afternoon

Just before I left for home I saw two more Great Spotted Woodpeckers and then a Eurasian Nuthatch, this bird must have liked me because it flew straight over towards me and perched with 10 meters. It found a grub in the bark and spent a few minutes eating it, clickety click!
