The range in temperatures today was unbelievable, we set off at 8am with 4C registered on the car temp. gauge and at 3pm at the coast we recorded 27C........insane, I had to take off my jacket! Despite this cold weather, with North-Easterly winds, migrating birds still trickle across from Africa. We recorded our first PURPLE HERON, LITTLE BITTERN and BLACK-EARED WHEATEAR of the year.........
More and more migrants fInd their way onto to our list as we find our first: Gull-billed Tern, Alpine Swift, Garganey and lots more Yellow Wagtails..........
A complete contrast in the weather today, it actually stopped raining!! But only for a short while in the village. We had a clear sky to begin with and a very misty start to the day......................
|It was one of darkest mornings I have ever seen it was pouring with rain and the village was engulfed in clouds......and yet a Black Redstart was singing in my courtyard, bless him! It cheered me up and made my day.
After breakfast we went down to the coast where it was dry and we logged over 70 species.......]
Our first day began at Malaga Airport, it was raining and rained for most of the day but we did have an hour or two in the afternoon with dryer warmer weather. We did managed to see over 55 species including some nice migrant species............
My second full-day out with local guide Roy was a bit of a wash out, it was dull and overcast, we had rain and sleet for most of the day but we still saw some good species..............
A full day out birding with local guide, Roy Adams, we saw a great range of species meeting all our targets which included 7 Woodpeckers, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Common Crane, Smew, Goosander, Garganey and so much more..........
THIS 4 DAY BREAK began at noon in Budapest as I arrived from London, it was 15C sunny with no wind. After a short delay in baggage collection I met my car hire representative who took me a few kilometres from the airport to pick up my hire car.
OUR LAST DAY HAD ARRIVED.............it seemed just like yesterday that we had arrived, the tour flew swiftly by, but we still had one birding excursion left to do..............
